Death Trap

Welcome to SPEN's coverage of the finals of the Reggie Belafonte Big Z Memorial Surf-off on Pen Gu Island. I'm Sal, broadcasting from the legendary Boneyards and I have to tell ya: conditions could not be worse! A huge electrical storm has entered the area and while it has brought a giant swirl with it, it has also brought extreme hazards. Add to that the Boneyards' unstable yet razorsharp rock formations and this is a nightmare. Add to that the only competitor left to our challenger: the most ruthless surfer alive, and the penguin who'll stop at nothing to defend his title: Tank the Shredder Evans. Put all these things together and it adds up to a death trap. Let's go wild!
Lines from the game "Surf's Up!". Before every stage there is one or more SPEN (Sport Penguin Entertainment Network) videos with the announcer seal (walrus?) Sal. Most of the time they are really funny, however in the final stage, the Boneyards it's actually quite intimidating hearing for the first time.
I love that game. I don't know why, probably the memories, but to me its mediocre-ness simply doesn't exist. It put me into the mood to draw this pic. Started yesterday, finished today (between the written and the oral part of an exam, cuz fck anxiety), this is my first drawing in 2014.
Mainly I tried to practice the shading of a stormy sky the rocks and the water, but I just couldn't wait to finish it so didn't have any reference pics. I just said "fck it" and improvised through the whole thing. The sky is actually okay I think, the water... meh.

Ez a szöveg a Vigyázz, Kész, Szörf! játékából való. Minden pálya előtt van egy vagy több videó a SPEN bemondójával, Sallal, a fókával (rozmár?). Legtöbbször ezek viccesek, de az utolsó rész, a Hullámsírkert előtt kifejezetten ijesztő először hallani.
Imádom ezt a játékot. Igazából nem is tudom, miért, de számomra a középszerűsége nem is létezik. Talán az emlékek okozzák. Mindenesetre megihletett erre a képre. Tegnap kezdtem, ma fejeztem be (egy vizsga írásbeli és szóbeli része között, mert francba az idegeskedéssel), ez 2014-ben az első rajz tőlem.
Főleg a viharos ég, a sziklák és a víz árnyékolását próbáltam gyakorolni, de mivel nem tudtam kivárni, hogy hazakerüljek, ezért nem volt semmi referencia képem. Az ég egész jó lett szerintem, a víz meg.... háááááát.
